I have here a cartridge type oil filter housing with a sensor in the right hand side presumably for pressure or temp. It came of my bitsa 850. What are these off and whats the sensor for? |

The sensor is for the oil filter bypass. When the filter is being bypassed a light comes on on the dash. They are off a Morris 1100. |

The 850's have the switch on the front, not the right hand side. ![]() |

They are off a Morris 1100. Wasn't this same filter head used on the Deluxe? |

Wasn't this same filter head used on the Deluxe? Yep. Did the Deluxe have the light? There was a couple of versions of the Ryco filter head, one with the switch and the other without. |

I'm not sure, but I think so. The Mini K did. |

It was a pretty useful device although very simple in design. The filter was being bypassed because it was simply full of crap. Amazing the number of people that never look at guages but respond to a red light. Mike |

Mike The switch on the filter head was not too durable, you rarely see intact ones now. |

I have found that the main problem was oil leaks from the switch which was usually the O-rings underneath the switch. A couple of minutes and a pair of new rings and they were fine again. |

I have to wire the one into the 850 as I am using an oil light as well as the oil pressure guage. I have the old light holder which is double insulated with two green and white tracer wires but the wiring leaves me little room to fix a new wire. Are these ones still available? |
