recon = recondition with new parts as needed.
Rebuild can mean = reassemble with selected used parts and a minimum of new ones..

i have to get a new or recon. gearbox for my 1275 with rod selector and gaskets where can i get one and how much could i get one for ( it would be cheeper getting a recond. one instead of repairing mine) my mechanic is looking for one aswell and we are comparing prices. there are also a list of parts i need in wanted section. |

Mini And suzuki spares in seven hills have them last time i was up there. Aorund 300-400 for a reco. not a rebuild. Give them a call and ask for micheal, good guy! he will look after you. Cheers Aaron |

Actually doc i meant the other way round. Reco is basically clean and replace worn parts. IE layshaft,Baulk rings, main bearing.(not sure excatly what parts these guys replace) And make sure everything is within tolerence. Rebuilt, new All new bearings, layshafts and any other wearing parts etc etc. You do get what you pay for though. As i said chat to micheal and he will point you in the right dierection if you want to buy one from a shop. if you buy 2nd hand from someone you may as well rebuild your own. Cheers Aaron |
