How do I remove the black surround from my three gauge instrument cluster? I'm making a custom dash and want to keep the original instruments setup but remove it to make my dash template.

Its held on by clips - just wiggle it from side to side as you pull it towards you. The outer plastic surround then comes away freely.

The guage set itself is in two parts but comes away once you undo the screws. Dont forget to undo the speedo cable and disconnect the circuit connectors on the circuitry.

No.. thats it. The black shroud just pulls off.

Oh wait ....... alternatively you could pull the whole cluster of guages out. (there are 2 screws each side) undo these and pulll the guages out (disconnnect speedo cable, tacho wires and power plug thing) and pull the whole lot out. Cluster and blackshroud together

Then attack it from the rear with a phillips head screwdriver. You can just undo the metal clips that hold the black shroud on, poke it down the holes.

Thats from memory, i had mine out a few weeks ago, much easier just pulling the whole cluster out with the plastic shroud and leaving the black bracketry in the car.
