I want to put my van shell on a rotisserie. Now this van does not have a speedo hole so the pipe up the guts is not a goer. I have built the rotisserie and as it has to attach to each end of the car the attachment will take a bit of time. How am I going to get it in the air and stable enough at the correct height to attach the Rotisserie. A forklift is out for a number of reasons so I have to get inventive. Any ideas?

get 4 of your biggest toughest mates...

put the wheels on, and roll it up on ramps? no too hard.

get some big jacks and axle stands?

how much ground clearance do you need?

OH this one is impracticla, but you could get one of those big inflatable things the emergency services use to lift cars and busses. that would go well

OH and i was gong to suggest a home made crane but you will bend your chassis. not good.

getting your mates around is probably the best bet.

When I did mine (OK, it had the pipe thru the holes, but no matter) we bolted the pipe in the car first. Then we assembled the end frames and the brace under the car, next to the pipe.
Then 3 of us lifted the car and pipe, one end at a time- so it sat in the 1/2 pipes of the end frames.
 Make the pipe longer than you think you need..
I've got more pics if you need 'em.

Yeah, that's most probably the go. Attach all the fixings to the car, then put it in the air. Actually doing it this way I can do it on my own. I will lift one end with a chain block then move to the other and lift that. Should be easy that way. Where is the CoG of a bare mini body says he wondering?
