Post subject:  Going back to 10''

I've decided I want to put my car back on a set of 10'' wheels as I'm sick of the sloppy 13x7's. I trying to work out if I'll have to weld some panels back on to fit a smaller flare or if I can just keep my current comp flares. Can any tell me what I'll need to do?

If you have the coin use some Rose Petal rims

http://www.minispares.com/Product.aspx?ty=pb&pid=42549

and if your worried about flares see if some Leyland Mini flares fit , also if you saying that you have cut your guards to make sure the 13x7 did,nt rub then you might have look at adding an edge to fit smaller flares , they will have to be welded on the internal side if the guard ( so as not to damage paint ) , small spot welds would be better

Just buy some fat tens in charcoal and lower the car, it'll look great.

If I can just drop it on 10x6 I will but I'm worried that the amount that has been cut out will look awkward. I need to try first..

Rose petals are by far my favourite wheels but I think they need to be run with no flares at all

I've got chromed 10 x 7 steels with spun halves (only one weld) on my 1970 Mk2 Cooper S and had to cut the front guards a little at the leading edge to get clearance. I have Group 2 extensions fitted (same as Manton had on his last Mini) which cover things ok.

Out of interest sake, whats the widest 12's come in?

Woulndt say 12x6 fill the modified guards better but give less sloppy ride than with the 13s?

10x6 minators will still sit out of those flares and allow a drop in ride height for that premium look.

check the offset.

I had these 10x6 on my Mini and they sometimes touched at the front of the guard when turning.

They stuck out quite a bit so would still fit your wider arches quite well I think

If you want to try you are welcome, no pressure to buy mine.

I'm keen to go for a 10'', just love the look of small chubby wheels. From what I'm seeing the 10x6 will look fine.

Now... which ones :D
