Post subject:  Paint Colour Matching / Spray Can

Hi

Does anybody know of a good company to go to for mixing up some paint and potentially supplying said paint in a spray can?

I have a few areas on my 67 Deluxe which could do with a tidy up. I know the colour name and code so matching isn't really an issue.

If it helps I am based on the Central Coast of NSW.

Thanks

My local Auto1 store can mix paint to BMC colours and stick it in a spray can. (or even in a 50ml touch up bottle)
I know a lot of them can do it.

In Sydney I would probably go to VG Auto Paint at Girraween.

Three auto shops that mix where I live. Ended up going with supplier I felt most competent with older colours. I took a print of the colour chart applicable to my year from the how to section on this forum, they just needed the colour code and tint numbers. Some of the older tint numbers had been superseded with new numbers and had to be ordered in but by the end of the week had 4 litres of indigo blue no problems.

As Morris 1100 said most will do a spray can or small tin for you. Hopefully they have the tint colours required to start with, that will make it easier.

BTW, that was acrylic paint. Some guys around here have a few 2 pac equivalent paint codes

Hey Andy,

We met up on Sunday (I have the red/silver Deluxe).

I get all my stuff through Pennisula Paints in West Gosford:

They have just moved and are now in Marstan Cl. They should be able to mix acrylic to your 'Neutral Grey'. I have seen a small glass touch up spray canister that can be pressurised and used as a spray can.

Thanks guys, really helpful.

Thanks Dave, I'll check Peninsula out then as they are local. Are you still heading to Woy Woy on Saturday?

I believe the Sprite Club have invited the Mini club on their annual fish and chips run from Dural to Woy Woy, so I was going to be lazy and head to Woy Woy to be nosey and see what's about:

Lash out on a Supercheap auto compressor and spary gun.. much better results than a spraycan. That way you can blend it.
