Post subject:  Speco Temp Gauge
Whats the quality of these gauges in general?

Also what temperature C should a mini sit on?

Been a while since I looked at the Speco Guages, but I do recall they were quite OK.

I seem to recall from a thread ages ago you have an 82 deg thermostat, so I would expect to see the temp 'sit' between about 78 and up to 85 degrees, but depends how good the thermostat actually is and how well calibrated the gauges is and to the thermostat itself.

Also, the bigger factor is how up to scratch your cooling system is.

Ive been using a speco temp gauge for a few years no problem.

You may need to sort out some adapters to make them fit the mini head/block, but this is easily done.

had Speco mech temp, oil pressure and boost gauges in my old mazdas, thought they were awesome quality

.. albeit a bit scary to be able to watch the heat soak on the mech temp gauge even after a rolling and static cool down of over 10 mins... but i guess the t044 used to glow red to see thru hot!

Ministar.

Used the speco guages on my 850. Very pleased.

as mentioned above, i had to go back and buy the brass adaptor as the head thread does not provide a step for the sender to bottom out and seal on.

I run a 82c Thermostat, and it reads spot on. Climbs to 95-98sih up a steep hill on hot days, but drops back quick on the flat.
