Post subject: | Heaters - Matrix and hoses |
Hey team, I have a metal case moke heater and I think the core/matrix is stuffed. It is the type with the sliding lever on the front that does off-screen-car and a singe speed fan. Very similar control panel to the plastic cased Rover heaters from the 80s. First question: Why are the hose connections on these heaters arranged to point towards the pedal box when the hoses come into the car through the passenger side? Second: Have I stuffed up or is there a way of making the heater hoses not kink when getting to these odly placed connections? Third: Does anyone know a supplier in Aus who has these cores? Ok I'm soft for having a heater but it is also an ADR requirement for my age of moke. Yes my 82 car should have a later heater but they were hens teath when I rebuilt the car. Thanks, M |

I have come across some of these heaters too. They were for LHD Cars, but some were fitted in to our late Mokes. Some of the heater cases have holes in both sides, so you can remove the core and fit it out the correct side. The ones that don't, I re-drill them (16 mm hole saw). Then you'll need way less hose, it won't kink up and you won't think you'be being over-run by a serpent every time you look down. I know Adrad make cores for these, but they do not sell direct, so find a Radiator Repairer (coff, coff) who sources from Adrad. |
