I pulled up my carpet to attack some surface rust on the floors and also pulled up the vinyl(?) sound proofing (?) that is stuck to the floor in the front and rear (which incidentally was harboring some more nice surface rust. Now that I have done that I see there are the 4 or so standard holes in the front footwells. I am planning on recarpeting it all but wanted to know what everyone else does with these holes. So do I leave them or am I supposed to plug them? Havent seen what others have done on here. |

I just bought some rubber plugs, though the original may have been plastic. |

Probably just Clark Rubber or the likes. From memory I went round the whole car and measured any hole without a plug and tool a list with me. |

Yes, I was going to say Clarke Rubber as well. If you leave them out and hit a flooded road the car will fill up. If the car fills up from some other means then you can take the grommets out to drain it. |

In the Moke, there's no carpet and the holes get dirt and crap forced into them. I put rubber grommets in but they kept getting kicked out so I fitted a couple of those screw in plugs you used to be able to get for blanking antenna holes, they worked a treat. Tim |
