Found this in a box of bits. . .a split skirt, flat top piston fillted to a AEG521 S rod.
I'm aware of split skirt pistons for 850s but wasn't aware that they had ever been used in big-bore motors.
There don't appear to be any markings on the piston at all (it is fairly weathered though).
Just for my own interest, does anyone have any idea what these pistons were originally used in - or were they aftermarket?

Split skirts were std in 850 (and also the 948 Morris 1100 I think).

I've never seen one on a 521 S rod- Mini Miglia racers in UK used smallbore pistons on S rods, but I doubt they were split skirt.
