New some new door hinges for one of my clubbies.. the hinges have been repinned years ago now, and are past repair..

Looking around at the shops here in Aus and even UK... it seems you can only buy those alloy hinges now...??

I want to paint mine in 2pak.. either that or chrome them... has anyone done chroming on the hinges before? Im curious... and will it work with these alloy ones??

Cheers

If I were you I'd just be on the lookout for some old cast ones, and repin them if necessary.
They've worked for 50 years, why change them? They'll also be the cheapest solution.

Doesnt yours have bushes in the lockie? Otherwise just knock the pins and bushes out and put new ones in.

I have heard/read of people chroming hinges but they continually crack where the pin is.

Someone on here did it and this is what i remember reading occuring
