I need a K&N Filter for my 1.5" SU

Where can I get one in sydney?

Or, is there a better filter I can get for an 1.5" SU?

Cheers

Adam,
Read this article by Keith Calver and then tell me you still want one.
Bottom line- a std HS4 donut filter with a few holes added to the case outperforms a K&N on the dyno.

He might not want to drive on a dyno.

Which is better on the road? Filter efficiency?

Probably the donut filter does better- if you MUST have a K&N, I'd fit their replacement element into the stock case.
Best of both worlds then.
IMO the conical K&N is too small (for bigger motors anyhow). Not enough area...

I always worry about the lack of surface area in a lot of filters, even some of the paper filters are not made properly and only a small part of the paper is actually being used.

Standard donut filter with some holes in it sounds good to me then!

Will dig out the old filter housing tomorrow.
thanks gentlemen

Unfortunately there are no "stock" filter cases for twin 1.5s. I (or rather the local dyno) found 2hp when we replaced my home made case (2 flat panels sandwiching a pair of XU1 paper filters) with a pair of K&N cones.

I haven't done the maths but I would suggest any concerns do not involve issues of filter area.

Cheers, Ian
