summer is about over, for anyone who has one, how did the ~$90ebay aluminium radiators hold up in the heat? I have used only the 40 mm ones and they are excellent cooling item. Very noticeable difference to a normal radiator. They cool much quicker and keep temp lower. Can't go past them for the price. I would be curious to try a 50 mm one too. |

I've been running mine for 2000 kays, 500 back in April / May and the rest since sometime November. Can't say I've any issues with it at all, though my car runs a normal fan and a thermofan on a relatively stock 1275. Also hasn't corroded or fallen apart, and it's even still nice and shiney. 
I'll measure it when I get home. |

I've not heard a bad thing about these radiators. I've had one sitting in a box ready for the next radiator I pull out for a while... Not used one yet. |

I can tell you i put these alloy rads through their paces. The only thing that killed it was a rollover. It performed extremely well, i put it through -3C through to 48C in highway driving speeds of up to 140km/hr. I never had an issue. As you know, most of my driving was in desert temps, at highway speeds, the only thing i would do if your driving around city is contemplate a blanking plate for the thermostat, if your on the highway this is a BAD idea. For $95 you cant go wrong. be aware the threads are metric, and sometimes the lugs welded to the sides dont match the brackets. Other than that you cant go wrong. Id say i did at least 20,000kms with one of these. Try highway 150km/hr for extended period in 48C with a normal RAD, your car wont like you. |

I'll be testing mine out with my Moke - I'll probably have a first drive next week at some stage, and being a topless Moke, it'll only be out on the hot days. I'll certainly let you know how I get on. With the reports on here, looks like it will be a good thing! |

Has anyone painted one of these black ? It would be interesing to see how much difference it makes to the cooling ,as the black is meant to absorb more heat from the circulating coolant,whereby it can then be taken away by the action of the airflow through the fins |
