Post subject:  Outback Update

Finally, its almost over.

So an update from the outback, its hot, its wet, and its humid. Well Darwin is anyway.

After much hassles and lack of funds, and too much stuff to take care of, the Mini in the bush was finally seen again for the second time since the accident. Looking at it again i shocked myself, i didnt remember it being so FUBAR.

We got stuck in with tools and crowbars and the engine took 4 hours to pry from the engine bay, the whole car was pretty much wrapped around it. We had to use two crowbars to pry it free. "Shes Dead, Wrapped in Plastic" whats the show people, bit of trivia for ya. So motor is wrapped 50metres of glad wrap and stored to the side. I recovered a drivers seat and 4 contessas and two steel rims, a maniflow lcb and rc40 and all the pipes.

The next step is to return to the bush and take apart the front sub, the sub itself its FUBAR, although all the bits will be taken off, then the rear sub will likely come off in one go and come back as one piece.

This will leave a bent shell which will likely sit proudly in the car graveyard at the grove hill pub in NT, where you will be able to go have a beer and talk Mini Accident with Bernie.

Id like to thank EVERYONE thats helped, not only after the accident, but during the last 4 years where we did the desert, the outback and the ocean roads. I dont think the trip would have been anywhere near as successful without your help.

SO THANKYOU, ITS BEEN VERY MUCH APPRECIATED, I HAVE ENJOYED THE TRAVEL, THE PEOPLE, THE PLACES and of course THE DRIVING.
