hey guys,

was just wondering if anyone has had any experience with the minisport 7.9 inch brakes with the alloy callipers?

anyone know if they fit over the new style jbw mambas? i know they dont fit under the old ones but i figure the new ones are a bit different.. they fit over quite a few different 10" wheel setups so im really hoping they do..

i want to keep my 10's

cheers

sean

I spoke with the owner/distributor of Minisport USA and I saked the same question. I had them put a set of 8.4's under their mambs and they fit (so I would assume 7.9's would fit). Should satisfy yourself by contacting them and asking them to do same, that way you have recourse if they don't when they get here.

They had a special on 8.4's and Mambas, is why I was asking.

I think boostedmini is running 8.4's on vented rotors under a 10" wheel.

I have minisport 7.9 under new mambas. I'd be surprised if 8.4 would fit, as it was we had to move the wheel balance to miss the calipers.

I'm pretty sure Boostedmini's are 7.9s or 7.5s- unless he's changed them.

The simple maths is that there is only 1.6in difference between a 8.4 rotor and 10in wheel.
Since this 1.6 needs to accommodate the rim thickness (say 1/4in, but it's effectively more as a rim is 10in at the tyre bead and the diameter gets smaller after this)), that leave you with 1.1in on the diameter (.55in or 14mm per side) in which you need to get a caliper: it won't happen unless you have those crazy Jap wheels with about 70mm negative offset.

All the answers are here --> http://www.ausmini.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=71618&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=15

but the short answer is that 6x10 new Mambas will fit but you will probably need to use the old style hammer on weights to balance them. Stick on weights placed on the rear of the rim will usually foul the calipers.
