Post subject:  Mini Cooper Information Request
Hi I am looking at a Cooper body, the id plate states Type YKA2S1 , Car No 2604 and engine no 9FSAL. Can anyone tell me what year this might be and if it is 997 or 998. Any other information would be great also. Please note that a further look at a photo of the id plate reveals that the Car No could read 2304.

For Oz Coopers,
997 was 9F/Sa/L and 998 was 9FA/Sa/L according to Parnell's book, p102.

I forgot about the "A", I was thinking they had the same number.

There is also the 9YSaH, 998 Cooper

It should also have a number on the radiator shroud panel that is fairly close to the car number on the ID plate .
