Post subject: | Removing broken high tensile bolt |
Hi All, Was tightening my shock bracket bolts this weekend after originally putting them on last weekend and one of the heads of a bolt snapped off. These are new high tensile bolts (7/16ths) and Im after some tips on how to get it out. I have a set of 'easy out' bolt removal bits but the bolt blunted my standard drill bit so getting one of those in doesnt seem likely at this stage. I dont have a welder so cant use any method involving that. Any recommendations? So far, Im thinking of getting a new cobalt drill bit and going nice and slow and seeing if i can drill through it and maybe hammer an allen key in and get it out that way. If that doesnt work Ill have to take it somewhere |

You might be able to tap it with a small screwdriver or centrepunch and unscrew it outwards. |

From reading those post listed above looks like i need to drill it out with a few different cobalt drill bits. |
