Fitted the mini tastic Yellow "race" Coils to the van Yesterday. Did the rears months ago but got lazy as the front is a lot more work. Love the way they feel compared to the old worn out cones. Very firm but not harsh like before.

Drove to work today and went to park. We have those fold down parking bollards at my work. I got stuck on one. I know I should raise it up a bit but I want to make it lower. What is wrong with me :)

In most states the law requires a vehicle to be able to drive over a 100mm block without touching any components.

My own mini is lower thn that and it would fail a standard roadworthy test but that not the only problem. Its a pain to drive as you have to be constantly aware of bumps in the road and pot holes and even debris. Any of which will shatter a sump at speed.

IMO - an overly lowered car is simply more trouble than its worth.

To answer your question, I think min clearance allowed is 100mm.

I raised mine (hydro) a bit last week- I like having some suspension travel for the goat tracks Sydney calls roads. :P

And the 100mm measurement is correct, but it doesn't include suspension parts, tie rods, that sort of stuff, but they shouldn't be lower than 100mm anyway.

I immediately recognised that numberplate and I didn't know why. Now I do!

I was wondering how you get in the gold one with no key hole or handle? (until I read that it must be photoshopped)

I thought older minis (pre 1970) could go down to 90mm or something like that, to do with the ADR's of that era :? :?:

As far as I know in Vic the limit was even higher until minis came out and they lowered it to 100mm for them.
