Post subject: | Wiper motor screws and pot bearings |
Hi all, just a few questions: - What size are the screws that hold the top plate onto the wiper motor? I lost mine ![]() - Do I need to use special balls for the pot joints (inner) or can the local bearings shop fix me up? - What size are the screws that attach the radiator brackets? The po used self tappers - I just don't like the idea of that. |

Ha, well, the previous owner also gave me a spare radiator which had a mysterious pin-hole in it - using the self-tappers is not a coincidence, I think. But are the pot joint balls special in any way i.e. are they hardened more or something? Anyone else have any ideas on the wiper motor screws? |

Not sure if they are hardened But if you call karkraft in silverwater, Sydney They should be able to post some to you, I know they stock them. Ask for Tim, he knows what he's talking about. Don't think they would carry the screws though.. |

Pot joint balls are hardened ballrace steel. They are bigger than CV ones (which are 9/16"). If Kc don't have them, any bearing shop would (or can get), but you need to measure the diameter or take a sample. For the proper screws, try Mini King. He might have the pot joint balls too. |

The other option is to buy a new pot joint as they are not that expensive |

Does anyone know of a tool I can use to measure it? Oh, and on the cv balls, I ended up going to SWB bearings in Hobart, and they ordered one for me - $2. The main reason I go into shops as opposed to buying online is customer service, and I would recommend them to anyone in tas. |
