Quote: The roll cage is made of plastic. It is hard to pic unless you look closely.
i think the pipe connectors kind of give it away, good idea to give the look without the added weight and safety ![]() |

![]() At least he's all open and honest that it's a replica cooper and even jokes in the description that his friends rib him about the fake plastic roll cage. On a more serious note though it could actually be quite dangerous in an accident as that PVC could shatter into rather nasty sharp splinters. |

Correct John Aley roll bars are still available in the UK. They are made from bent metal pipe. http://www.bryanpurves.co.uk/newminimenu.html Tim |

I know the car and owner, he has one of the finest MK1 S works rally replicas you will ever find with all original period parts and a real roll bar! This car was a bit of fun but he has to move it on for other projects. Great bloke and he will tell the buyer everything they need to know about it, very honest and good bloke, he won't hide a thing and advises potential buyers to look at it first. May not be to everyone's liking but it is what it is and may interest someone. The fake roll bar can be easily removed. |
