Hey Guys,
My mini has started burning a fair bit of oil lately.
Ever since i did a trip to launceston in 40 degree heat.
I snapped this photo the other day after it had been idling for about 5 minutes warming up for the trip to school.

Im guessing this is where my oil is going but whats causing it?
It had new rings and everything in 2009.

Cheers, Rhys.

Is this at startup or when warm?

Constantly.

I would put my money on broken rings... Did it only do this when cold? If it was run and got warm and then parked in the same place would it leave the same amount of crap?

That or it could have been rich when rebuilt and glazed the bores? Causing the oil to just blow through the combustion chambers? Just an idea :D

Cheers, Steve

Bit of a bummer by the sounds of it.

What brand of pistons and rings were fitted?
