ok, it goes like a 1920's truck pulling 50 tons, thats crap, it was doing 70 in fourth, it was flaming cos i let so much fuel in then gave it full throttle, it did a huge backfire and i got some flames!!!, but just send me any info on how to properly tune a mini with twin s.u's, not like haynes stuff, out of vizards book or something preferably! |

yes my grandad who is quite capable of tuning cars, as he has raced for 30 years before he came out here is away, and when he tuned it to rev high, he tuned it so it went well standing still so we could keep it running not so i can burn it down the street, does that explain it???? |

so instead of what you said earlier.. which was that your grandad tuned it to run at 8000 rpm.. what you really meant was that your grandad adjusted the carb idle screw so it was idling fast.. which was necessary to actually make your car run because your carby jet is totally out of adjustment. AND.. i agree, you shouldnt be driving it on the road, you are only technically allowed to drive it on your own private property. the main point is don't drive it if its running like crap, you'll end up burning a valve or something. |
