im looking at getting a bigger fuel tank made for my 78 leyland van does anyone know of someone or lead me in the right direction. Im in Perth but will go almost anywhere. |

How big do you want to go? If you fit an LS / Rover tank and a RH tank you'll have 60 litres. Easy to do and cheaper than getting a tank made. |

Why not look at a rover tank, they hold 35 litres i think, they should be easy to get hold of |

i was thinking of getting one made the same as the original but bigger to take advantage of all of the original space, and i will divert the exhaust to give me access to the whole of the rear under section of the car |

Had a Mini many years ago where the fuel tank was fitted within the subframe area. This would work with a van. Not sure how the exhaust was run. The tank was from an old Holden or Morris Minor - not sure which, but it was a good fit. Will try and find an old photo. |

I have a mate here in town who has done this to his mini van (amongst other mods) i could go and take a photo of it except its out of town at a panel beaters. He had someone weld them up from aluminium. Sorry i cant go and take photos. but from memory he had to make it an odd shape for the exhaust. |

Check out some of the engine conversion threads. I'm sure I've seen a van or two that had tanks from other cars adapted into the back.

you could try the spridget (sprite/midget) tanks, i think we used to use those to fit inside the rear subframe years ago |

I had an alloy tank made to fit in the area rear of the battery in a van You will need a pipe 1/2'' ID from the main tank to the alloy one and a breather fitted to the alloy tank Mine holds about 25 L, when you fill the main the other tank also fills |
