Post subject:  RC40 Exhaust mounting points

Hi all

I have an RC40 twin muffler exhaust kit with the maniflow extractors and I am wondering where does the front/middle section of the exhaust mount to the car. Bearing in mind I have a Mini-Matic (if this is different to a manual).

The rear two points are fine on the rear subframe. I have the proper mounting brackets.

The extractors came with the mounting bracket as well. Does this attach to the front subframe? the body somewhere under the shell?

Does anyone have photos or schematics/diagrams of specific mounting points. How have others mounted the front section of their exhausts.

Thanks

Andrew

The extractors mount to one of the diff nuts
then the centre of the front of the rear sub frame and just behind the bumper - if the system is all bolted together that is all the support it needs

The little link plate on that front LCB clamp is really meant to mount onto the exhaust bracket (rodchange boxes) but it will mount to the bottom sidecover bolt with a bit of persuasion.
It should also reach to there on an auto box (I know the covers are different, I have one).

"where does the front/middle section of the exhaust mount to the car...."

Use UBolts to hang the pipe from the standard exhaust mounts on the front and rear of the rear subframe.

Cheers, Ian

RC40 has a mounting kit aswell
Comes with some plates that attach to the stock cotton reels, and then you hang the u bolt off that plate and around the exhaust.

Provided you have the normal cotton reels you should be okay with the mounting kit!
