I am currently converting from pudding stirrer to rod change box.The rod assembly is quite flexible in its positioning sideways. If i mount it centrally in the tunnel it will be in the way of the exhaust. Are these usually offset towards the passengers side? and if so by how much?
Any help much appreciated.

Yes they are offset to the left. I will give you the dimension of the LH cottonreel mount from the tunnel shortly.

[edit]
LH cottonreel mount hole is 4" to the left of the tunnel centre.
RH cottonreel mount hole is close to the middle of the tunnel, roughly in line with the handbrake.
This is on a 1977 Clubby van...

That is quite an offset so will clear the exhaust nicely.
