Didn't even know they made them! Thought 45 was the ultimate.

EDIT: They make 50 and 55 as well, but I found an inlet manifold for a Mini that can take a 40, 45 or 48 DCOE Weber.

EDIT 2: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=72205&item=7976908435&rd=1&ssPageName=WD2V
Who's up for a threesome!?

Gafmo has a 48... You probably don't need to run more than 38mm chokes on a mini which makes the 45 enough IMO... You start to lose inlet flow velocity which means losing torque.

Gafmo's is a Dellorto 48DHLA. Same (italian) horse, different colour..
A 48 is just a 45 with bigger throttle plates, it takes the same chokes as a 45.
Yeah they work, but not as well in a Mini as a 45, according to Des Hammill's books.

Why not bolt a jet engine manifold onto it while you're at it!

I was just getting in on the act   58 DCOA indeed! I dun care what size A series you have, it's too big!

Yeah miniman I was going to say that anything over 48 is too big for any mini, then I remembered that there have been up to 1600cc A series engines in the past.. beyond 1400cc is a mystery to me

I`ve known of a 1620 before,,,don`t know where it is now tho

& my dad was trying to make one with a double offset 3" bore,,,hee hee,,,now that`s a big mini donk no matter what stroke

48 is probly still too big for a 1600 really,,,but still a good wank value hey?

we were looking for another 48 for Stew`s 1600cc X-flow, but i`ve bulit up a pair of 45s for him so they`ll do him for now, he`s sh!t scared of it as it is anyway, so no need for more poo in his pants with even more revs hey? :-) i told him yesturday that he`ll be needing to buy himself a brown race suit :-) hee hee,,,still laughing about it hee hee
