Afraid not Anthony, the style maybe but as to the colours, his has been re-upholstered. I might have to ask him if it was faithfully done to thr original patterns and colour to be sure as I have someone telling me that mine is not original.

64-67 they used this pattern in Australia.

Hmm colours?

Blue
Red
Green

Was there light tan and/or black back then, don't think I've seen those colours in older cars.

In 63/4 had they started to use Australian supplyed vinyl??

If they had started using the Australian supplied vinyl by then the pattern should look like this. Supplied by Nylex Australia I believe.

Its a crappy pic. but these are 64 998 cooper seats, ignore door cards, they had been changed, would have been slidey window doors and cards.

Let me know if you want more? 8)

Thanks everybody.

At least I can be sure I have the correct pattern but the blue vinyl is not in common use here in Aus, perhaps because it was a CKD car, explains why it is impossible to get the vinyl here. I've been searching for the past few days and most likely will have to settle for the closest I can get which would mean that I may do all the seats and not just the front.

Will need to replace the diaphragms on the front seats at the same time so do any members have suggestions as to who supplies them now at the right price. I've been told they are available again.

Mini spares in England has them at a pretty good price , locally Minisport has them too and probably a number of others.

997 Coopers were trimmed in Australia and used local materials. I have a Dusk Blue/Nurburg White car with the original trim in the rear. Had no problem finding a near exact match for the vinyl. Very nice quality and as good as the original. Can find out the manufacturer etc if you need.
BTW the original car had 2 different styles of vinyl on the seats with a higher quality vinyl on the seat tops and a thinner cheaper version on the sides and backs.

Thanks wild_willy, I would appreciate any more info you can give. The description of the two different quality vinyls fits in with mine as does your cars colours. My upholstery colour remains a mystery with it being so dark a blue so it intrigues as to colour of your vinyl.

Can't remember any dark blue seats way back when but as your car is a late Cooper who knows what they did?

Have a look at this site to see if any of the vinyl colours come close. My trimmer used the Cordova vinyl and it is an excellent match both colour wise and texture.
