Spoke to an old English chap today, and the usual stuff, when I was in England I used to work on these...... Thinking oh yeah here's another back yard mechanic...spoke about where and what he did.... He used to work at Radfords, working as an apprentice on the Beatles minis and cruising with george Harrison's. Brother in Georges car.... And all the girls checking to see which Beatle it was lol

I know a similar guy here....reckons he's worked for every (major) English car manufacturer at some point. He's dressed the walnut (?) for RR dash boards, has spoke shaved Morgan chassis rails....amazing guy to talk to.

There is a bit of a difference between the terms frame and chassis when describing Morgan construction.
The body has an ash frame.
The chassis is made from steel.

Well to clarify then, I have no **** idea. He's an awesome guy to talk to, he spoke shaved SOMEthing on morgans.

Know how you feel smac......Met a Russian guy who designed nuclear delivery systems for the old Communist Soviet Union.
Now here's something that should worry you.
I asked him did the Russians develop their own computers and computer languages. He just laughed and said no they bought them off the Americans.
In fact they bought the first computer IBM made for $10,000.
I googled it and sure enough he was right.
He said whenever the Americans made a tech advancement they didn't have, they simply bought it off them, no worries at all.
Fantastic guy to talk to.

Yeah you do hear some great stories.

I was chatting to a dentist I work with. He worked a couple of years at Leyland whe he was young welding up the doors for the P76. He told a few interesting stories.

He said near the end with the general unhappiness at the plant guys were doing stupid things like throwing half eaten sandwiches and rubbish inside the door panels.

He also told a story about a compressed gas cylinder falling over and shooting the length of one of the factory buildings like a torpedo and punching though a wall at the end.

I always thought that one sounded like a bit of a tall tale but it was confirmed when I retold the story to a group of ex employees from the BMC Heritage group.

You should have seen their faces light up. "Oh yes, everone knew about that one". Apparently very lucky no one was injured.
