Nice spot Dave, yea it's our car, noticed it when Mike posted in the ebay section..asking a lot more than we paid, looks like he just joined ebay and trying to drive interest.

i drive past there quite a bit and only one of those cars is in stock and it's already sold to Sydney Minis...

Nit sure if we can report to eBay or what it would come under?

The heaps of rovers did help me :D

It would come under listing violations in the ebay report area..
I would report it as a listing violation or a fraudulent listing.
When i called them up a few weeks ago they were not really interested in helping me out with the mini.. i guess because they have no stock.

Doesn't seem right if they have had 2 offers on a car they don't own!

send the cops around there - as far as you're concerned they must be trying to find a seller for your car before they come and pinch it back

that'll f*ck 'em

I reported it to eBay, will see what they do.

I've seen stuff like this on carsales before - these dealers don't have to have the car in stock, all they need is a disclaimer like the one below:

"Please confirm vehicle details with the seller prior to purchase.
Dealer Licence No. 18610
Say you saw it on eBay!"

Maybe others can report it as fraudulent too as it has our numberplate...

Oh and if anyone is looking to buy a rover in sydney they are worth a look but just know you're going into a dealer the mostly sells your common jap imports and knows nothing about minis (well apart from what i taught him)

They will also try the usual sales tactics and bullshit but at the end of the day if you KNOW what you are looking at when it comes to minis and dont take crap you can find a good car and get down much closer to the 10K mark for a nice late rover with aircon, airbags etc.

I replaced a few things to get ours back to it's former glory:
1. Brake light switch on footpedal (brake lights didn't work)
2. Fuse for Indicators (indicators didn't work) - never blown since
3. LH CV Joint was worn (replaced braks on both sides with complete new hubs and 7.5" brakes with 4-pot alloy calipers i had for another project)
4. Vacuum lines split to the ECU and had to replace them.
5. Floor had a crack where the lower subframe mounts (common on late rovers) so welded that up and plated it so it wouldn't happen again.

The underneath of this car is immaculate, no dings or dents at all.

It's just pot luck what kind of car they get from the auctions in Japan, as with anyone - take your money where you can get the best deal or the car that you want.

That's pretty shocking Mini Mad. Seling a car with obvious faults like dodgy indicators and brake lights is unethical if not illegal. Was it freshly registered?

It had just been traded in and was already in the country for some time.
Looking at the registration papers the previous owner lived in the same suburb as me

They were going to repair it (by law they had to) but i signed a waiver to take the car as is and fix it myself as they were only minor problems and it allowed me negotiate a lot on price.

Ah, that makes sense.

I think that car may be the one "Lurker" used to own. It was identical if not. I dunno if she hangs out here anymore.

Inspect first and then inspect again,

purchase only when you have the right one,

look for rust.

mechanial faults are eazy to fix, rust is $$$$$$$

I just purchased a 92 rover from sydney. ( private sale )

How on earth did you legally go DOWN in brake size, on a car of such age? :?

I'll take my chances with NEW TAROX vented 7.5" setup (that could handle track abuse in my mini) vs 15 year old undersized factory discs with worn CV's and leaky piston seals.
