go to the wreckers and see what you can find.... what's wrong with your heater? is it a problem with the fan, the core, does it leak? maybe it's just a wiring problem.... I reckon mini heaters work better than most ones I've seen in old cars.... anything new will be expensive

I totally agree. i took my clubman heater out, gave her a a good flush, repalced all the heater piping and now it goes like a dream. the problem was in the water regulator switch, all clogged up with muck so drilled out half of it (it was like rock) and as i said...all is good now. its a relatively easy setup to maitnain and they DO work

i pulled out the heater, there was so much sh^7 in where the core was like heaps (i might put some mesh over the intake) so i got all that out. then i found the water regulator was seased so i got that all working, replaced most of the pipeing but when i put it all back in it leaked from some where round the water regulator should there be some sealant or something mine just had a clamp i might try to tighten the clamp more....
oh and y is it in my clubman the bolts are so hare to get at especially the back ones (lol) like the one on the drivers side i got a little annoyed and kinda kust twisted it out  lkinda not the best way but it worked i only had to bend back 1 mounting  but what elce could it be.... and how much would a new or used but still works water distributer???
thanks again guys :D

pfffft.....wear a jumper and trakkie daks...heaters are for wimps :P

Mine is a claytons heater now...the heater you have, when it has no heater core  It's just an ugly black plastic creation with a fan and ducting....

I also cut and welded it's mounting brackets so it sits right up under the dash, and not next to my size 12 feet

Oohh..i like that idea...i so want to rip mine out it's useless anyway!..

No need for a heater, close all the doors and windows and the car will heat up inside just from the exhaust heat coming through the firewall ;)

Everytime i want heat, i just press the little pedal on the floor .....

Revs go up.. boost goes up... temp goes up ....

On one particular trip to Wakefield late at night in late autumn, i was driving with a T-Shirt and long shorts while barracade was wrapped head to toe in woolens !

it was a nice balmy 38ish degrees in my car....
about 3 degrees outside....

Who needs a stinking heater.. get a Turbo !

he he he

PS - great way of destroying head gaskets too !

Do we know if it was the gasket that went on the weekend?

James,
If you really want to fix this problem, for good, fit a 940 or 1316 head, and a turbo gasket. Yeah, you might need to pocket the block or raise the chamber roof etc for ex valve clearance, but these heads are heaps more rigid (and heavier) than the smallbore ones. 8)
