Hi all,
Long time lurker, first time poster. I'll shortly be getting my engine back from the rebuilder and I would like to repaint it as close as can get it to BMC Green. My question is what is the technical name of BMC Green (assuming that it's not called that) or is there a modern equivelent name.
Regards,
James.

Mini King has 3 BMC engine paint colours (enamel) in 500mL cans:
Cooper S Green 543 metallic (the light green)
BMC Gold metallic
BMC green (the dark green).

I just bought the Cooper S one.

Hey, welcome to ausmini and hope to see you at some mini events even if you're not in the Vic Mini Club. Looking forward to seeing more of your car on here. Hope your engine build went well. I need to do mine when I can afford it. Cheers.

Hi all,
I was hoping to be able to drop down to the local (Eastern suburbs of Melbourne) auto paint bloke over the weekend and grab some paint for the job. Does anyone know of a modern colour that is pretty similar?

Hi Flute,
The car has been somewhat challanging. The project looked fairly straight forward, until the body was bead blasted uncovering a multitude of sins that had taken place over the past 45 years.

Cheers,
James.

Are you after the dark green or light green?
I used a hammer tone paint once which was available at Bunnings in a spray can or tin
I think it was Galmet? But could have been White Knight?
Forest green or similar?

Racing green and Universal Gold might be of interest?

I don't think it's `engine paint'. Keep looking in the list...
[edit] nope I can't see it, even under `squirts', maybe colour is NLA since Taubmans bought em.

Engines only get up to ~100C anyway, so normal enamel is fine.

Just found my list saved from when this has come up before -

BMC Engine Green - Dulux Autocolour code is 13261. Metallic Green - Metallic

MITSUBISHI SHERWOOD GREEN 4631 1973 1974 METALLIC is pretty much spot on (can be bought as touch up spray cans)

Saab moselle green is apparently close

cheers

Kev
