145/80/10 vs 165/70/10 for stretching to a 10x7 wheel.

165/70/10 definitely scrubs on front guards, curious as to whether anyone has tried 145/80/10 to stop scrubbing?

We used to stretch 145s over 6" rims way back in the `70s when it's all we could get then.
On 7" widies you will bugger them, and I think are illegal for road use anyway. It's waaaaay outside the Tyre & Rim Association recommendations for a 145...

I would trim the guards, if you must run 7" wheels.

145's on 7" wheels would look ridiculous too... 145's on a 5" rim look pretty silly as is

You'd be mad to stretch 145s onto 7s.
To put it plainly!
