A fair few people must be running them from mini***** UK by now & I'd like to know what the verdict is on them.

I get most response from my car btwn 2-5k and never really rev past.

1275 fairly stock motor stock cam
Hiff44 carb
Extractors 3-2-1

Any downsides... Wear etc

They are not as well made as they once were. I am building a 1377 stroker at the moment, bought a new set of 1.3s and had to machine 2 of the 3 spacers by .003" and .005" so the rockers didn't bind.
Also, #8 rocker had about .043" of endfloat, so I had to grind a spacer washer to fit.

I hope the rollers they use are hard now, years ago I saw a set of their 1.5s get flats on the rollers in under 10,000km, making them useless.

I guess with roller rockers, you do get what you pay for. Really GOOD ones cost $BIG.

Yeh, they go alright

i noticed a bit more pick up from around 3.5k(ish) i think that is due to the RE13 that is in there... but that mid range and top end, there is a noticible difference, does it add power? i dont think so, just makes what is there more usable, and a bit smoother...

Sounds a bit like when I changed carbs & exhaust the whole car just ran smoother throughout with a alright performance gain.

With my mild cam I doubt id see the gains I'm after.

My theory is I have never met anyone who had to rebuild a motor because of valve guide wear due to side loading of rockers on valves. However I have personally known a couple of people (and have heard of lots more) who had to rebuild because of failed roller rockers.

By all means go 1.3 or 1.5, but rollers? Really?

I agree...
My 1.5 forged Minispares rockers on the 1360 have now done over 50,000 miles, and worn out one VP3 camshaft, but the bronze guides are all still fine, ditto the valves, rocker pads, rocker bushes and shaft.

Well why spend money on something only to spend more money. Im sure there are lots on here that have them strapped in but I'd be pissed if I had to send my motor away for a rebuild in a year because of it.

Chong gave me some forged rockers a while back which are better than my current ones They probably could go straight in but should I get them freshened up a bit first.

Are there any other options?

You can fit offset rocker bushes to standard forged or pressed steel rockers- this gives a little more lift. But the ones they sell on the web won't give you 1.3:1.

The offset bushed sets I used to do gave 1.3:1 ratio, but nowadays you can buy 1.3 roller tips cheaper than I can do mine. 1/2 the work is in modding the rocker posts to move the shaft back 1.6mm.

That's why everyone's doing it then. Which is what i was thinking but i might reconsider or at least put it off for a bit.
