Last weekend at the VW nationals in Sydney, I bought some old pictures of minis and got chatting to the stall owner who apparently worked at the Zetland factory. Can anyone help identify the cars? I know the first one (Car 61) is T. Makinson and R. Altonen? as its written on the back of the photo. Thought some of you might be interested in seeing these old photos anyway.

I'd say they are minis but I could be wrong.

awesome old photos - might the name be T. Makinen ?

it appears to be an English Cooper S (just by the sliding windows), being tailed by an EH

dunno if they ever drove in Australia together, or in one of those

Yeah your right Simon, its handwritten so hard to make out but it does say, 'T. Makinen/R Altonen - Cooper S - 61'

According to this they did in fact drive #61 at the 1964 Sandown International 6 hour

Would this one be Lakis Manticas ?

Edit: This link shows his car with a Monaco roof but it was used in standard trim prior to that and he had #10

This one may be Ken Nelson. I know his car has a numberplate the same style. just can't remember if it is the same number.

Its a UK 1964 registration, could be a 1071, or an early 1275!

Possibly originally a Cardiff (Wales) Plate! CLL

Nice shot!

I thought this was Ron Gillard's car?
It looks identical to his Bathurst car from '69.
