Basically when ever I hook a trailer onto my mini the indicators flash really quick. Is their a better flasher unit I can use that will solve this? or is the problem something else? |

Only a guess ,But could it be a bad earth from the trailer ? |

It happens because there is more voltage drop or current draw or something than the can is designed to take. You could try a rover flasher can as they are designed to run 3-6 globes (I have one if them in my car, its only running 2-4 globes and works well), or LED trailer lights for less power consumption. The flasher cand exist too, they're designed to work with LED lights. |

i'm with Goodie on this one - check the earthing on the trailer first and also the contacts in the plug and socket. |

It's happened on two different trailers and one definetly works properly on other cars, the mini trailer hasn't been tried on another car. I initially thought it was voltage drop because the globes in the mini trailer were drawing too much power but after it happened with the 2nd trailer I figured it would be something to do with the flasher can... |

Check the earth from the plug to the car. Then change the flasher can. |

I'd suspect the flasher can- adding a trailer usually causes the flasher rate to be slower, not faster... |

Did the trailers have LED lights by any chance? |

The flash is very quick, the time between the flashes is about the same or maybe a little bit longer. |

If the indicators are flashing bright enough but very fast it means that you are using the wrong Flasher unit. Try one that is not "LOAD SENSITIVE". Some flasher units flash fast when Load wattage is too low or too high. Tridon make a good electronic one. If 2 pin you need a HD12 or if 3 pin you need a HD13. |
