Post subject: | INSURANCE |
just got my insurance renewal from company A and noticed it had gone up by $87.95 so rang them to ask why, and was told everything is going up these days, not bad for accident free history of 42 years. Cracked the sh1ts with the jerk on the phone. Got on the phone again and rang company B and they offered me exactly the same terms as company A, and wait for it nearly 50%, cheaper, so i would suggest any one renewing their policy for another year, shop around, i thought i was with a good company, but boy was i wrong :O ![]() ![]() |

I do a quick ring around every time I get my renewals just to check everyones being honest, but I'm already with the cheapest of relevant companies so can't complain that much. I understand prices will go up but sometimes the amount just seems rediculous, particularly when you pay $100s more to insure a car for $1000s less because of depreciation. |

Post subject: | A renewal is not a renewal |
A renewal is not a renewal as normal people think, it's insurance talk and what we all get each year is a new contract that looks SIMILAR to the old one. 1: your insurance is a contract that ONLY lasts one year 2: your renewal is a new contract and should be checked to see what you now lose on. 3: Shop around for the policy that you think best suits you 4: Always look at the extras available as they tell you what you're not getting 5: If your moving from an insurer be sure to tell them in strong but kind writing (email) why you are leaving, long term we can force a market change if we all feed back The best time to buy insurance is when you don't think it's needed, the worst time is when you know you need it as then it's to late! I got stiffed by a "good" insurance company as the conversation with the sales guy was so different to the policy I paid for at claim time I couldnt find the cover clause in the document. If you get any assurances from a representative then write the time and date and the persons name on the product broshure at a minimum. |
