hey guys some advice please, " i want to replace the rear drivers side panel on my mrk 1 850 ,. i could buy a new replacement panel from many mini parts suppliers but it has the wrong door apeture shape so has to be butt welded ,, now i have another mk1 with origional panel in good nick i was thinking of using this so how difficult is it to remove this panel to use as the donor panel and also what tips and hints do you have for me ,, where is it best to cut the donnor panel on the door apeture edge or what ,, or round past this,," closer to the door closure pillar" also can you please advise me as to wat the parts are called inside the rear odment bin as these also need replacing thanks for any help you can give me .. this is all due to a side swipe from some idiot :cry: :cry:

Can you please post some pics up of both cars/panels. This will help get better answers and ideas.

I have recently cut that panel out of (unfortunately) a rubbish car. Basically you get a grinder and cut on the out side of all seams and body lines that join that panel to the body, plus the inner wheel arch, rear bin, etc etc.

Also where are you located? another member may have a doner panel or a car worse off that the one you are planing on cutting up, also you may be able to repair the current car instead of replacing the entire panel.
