Stock AEG521 rod + cap, 608g I just measured, with bolts out.

2x ARP `BB Ford' rod bolts + nuts, add another 84g.

There are 2 versions of a 521- have caps with, or without cutouts.
This one is without. (but there's not much weight difference).

Dr

Would you have a part number for those ford rod bolts?

Thanks
Steve

ARP's # is 155-6002.
16 to a set, I buy from http://www.vpw.com.au/Category/Index/6680

~$74 a set of 16! + post. 8)
Beats S ones don't it...

Others note-
these are 3/8" bolts, they don't fit 1275 big journal rods which have 11/32" bolts..

I use them for engine builds, get 2 done per blister pack. 8)
Note their heads are a different shape, but they fit.
Steel spec is same as ARP's S ones, but the flanged nuts are hex head, not 12 point.

Just to confirm,
Doc wrote; ARP `BB Ford' rod bolts & then later wrote; ARP's # is 155-6002.
On the vpw site it has, ARP-155-6002 Ford FE rod bolt kit under that # Is this the correct bolt kit?

yeah i`m pretty sure there are a couple of BB ford rod types, hence the 2 types of rod-bolts to suit :-)

In Ford terms the FE is not a big block. It is an FE block.

Well yeah it's midsize then, not a smallblock like a 260>289>302>351 Windsor is.
It started out as a 332 in 1958, then 352, 390, 406, 410, 427, finally 428 Cobra Jet).
It's not a small engine, size wise. Weighs 650 lbs...
