Hey,

Im looking to fit an ARP main stud kit to a new engine rebuild (hillclimb /sprint use) Cooper S type. Heard somewhere that they might fowl the gearbox in places. Should this be something to worry about or not?
also where is the cheapest place in the world to buy them?

Thanks, Richard.

Yes they may foul the gearbox casing ...
.. and you won't be able to seal the gearbox to the engine.

I had this with my 1100S block.

Gearbox webs that foul just need to be ground to make clearance...

They only foul at the back, near the idler gear.

See the www.aptfast.com website for more info.
[edit] There was a link on that site a while back re this problem, but I just searched and it seems gone now, sorry!
Some nice steel main caps etc on that site... :P
