Clubman GT right? Not English 1275 GT? What do you want to know. They are the ugly version of a cooper S yet don't go as fast

Aren't clubmans the more aerodynamic shape?

I'm glad you said "More", they didn't call the mini a brick for nothing!

Would be interesting to review proper road test data of the period to see if the Cooper S actually was faster?

I'm sick of your waste of time posts all over here and Facebook

I blocked you from the mcct Facebook page because of your nasty or useless posts, dont continue it here.

Good lawd... Calm down mate go have a coffee or something obviously to early for you after waking up on the wrong side of the bed.. You blocked me because you didn't have an arguement against my perfectly reasonably statement. I'm sorry that half your club thinks 998's are quicker than cooper S's and that apparently drums work better than discs..

This 3 part series is on you tube

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B7FIohAS ... ure=relmfu

and is featured in The Mini Experience Magazine. (back issues available on CD) There is a member on here with a webpage on the GT but I am still looking for the link. Someone will post it soon no doubt. I think I took some pics of the above car so I will have a look and upload if I find them. Cheers.

Goodo :) always good when someone saves one of these beasts. The correct colour for that car if originally orange would be either Cadiz or Home on the o'range.

hahaha mini Mafia, hahahaha

Actually carterGt (this is a can of worms) one could argue that the GT was quicker. The GT did more laps and in less time around Bathurst when it raced, than the cooper s did back in 66. But IM not here to argue this. They are the same power-units and they both had the same maximum speed. So im happy to call them even

What did you want know about GT's I have two and there are a few around here that have them.

i will help where I can. Orange? is most likely "Cadiz", but could be "home On th'orange"

would love to see a picture or two

Brenton

I'm no expert by a long shot so someone put this right but I was lead to believe the later mk2 s's ran twin 1.5" SU's while the GT only ran the baby 1.25" SU's hence why I thought they would have been abit slower. The police pack SPO28's??? Ran the bigger carbs but not the later GTs that didn't run a cooper S motor.? You also have to remember Brenton by the time the GT's where running at Bathurst they had better tires and the track itself was fixed up abit in 69' or 70' so it would have been abit quicker? But hey I apparently know nothing and all my posts are a waste of time so no one listen to me
