Post subject:  1275 LS body numbers

Hi all, recently aquired a hiho silver 1275 LS. Does anyone have a list of production body numbers? I got it registered today and the bloke at licensing told me it was the very last LS off the line  Would like to check this for myself even though this guy is a guru in the mini scene here in Perth

It is matching numbers and has the original paperwork etc

Thanks
Jason

Was this mini maxs?

The last one as I understand is in the birdwood museum.

I believe the last ones ( not sure how many) has a special plate on the dashpad saying they were one of the lasy produced. ( I think it have been last 50)

Thanks for that, it doesnt have the original dashpad unfortunately, someone has removed it and put a standard (no warning lights) one in with speakers screwed to it :(

Wasnt mini max's. This one came from victoria about 2 years ago and sat in a guys garage here in Perth all that time. Fairly sure the car is on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9NmKEbjS ... ata_player had the same window sticker and sounds just like

It may be the last group but not the last one.

Mine is XNFAD18Y/102918 and was built in July.

I believe the very last ones were from october and have the numbers
XNFAD18Y/105XXX

I'll also have a stab that the construction timelines were:

102XXX July
103XXX August
104XXX September
105XXX October

If anyone can confirm that or has a car that doesnt agree (103XXX from July or September for example) then let us know.

One of these days I'll set up a number list to collate the info. How hard could that be

There is a member here who always takes offence when these particular numbers are put up.

The Factory Records show the last Mini produced in Australia was Body Number XNFAD18Y/105303. This was a 1275 LS.

Maybe you can show us your factory records and back up your facts for once?

I dont know who you are referring to but I am not sure if that would be the case in this instance. I am only interested in the month and the /105 /104 bit etc. not the whole number.

If it is it is a bit irrational.

For the record, my Silver 1275LS is 104956 and I found the seat belts were marked as October 78 :)
I guess it really is special

I used to own the 4th last.

It was 105281 and had the dash plaque. I believe only the last 10 "produced for sale" had the Dash plaques.

I did a bit of a search for my car here and it had a bit of a sad ending.

There's also some disscussion about the last cars and body numbers also so worth a read.

Yeah I have watched your thread. Nice work. You'll enjoy the sunroof. They were a very clever design the way they used the engine vacuum to collapse the seal. Only thing to watch is to wait a few minutes for the seal to come back up or a sudden stop and it slammed closed.
