Post subject: | Help with a ROVER mini's |
Hey Guys, for those who have or have owned a rover mini i have a few questions about them b4 i decide to buy one Has much as i love an older style mini , my love for Rover mini's with all the creature comforts i.e. air conditioning ...is growing my question is, before i buy one, how hard is it to register in NSW and i have called a few insurance companies like Real insurance, NRMA, YOUi, AAMI and they don't insure imported cars ??? If have a rover mini which insurer are you with for NSW and what price arrange are you paying in insurance , green slip, and Registration ? and have you had any issues trying to register the mini in any sort ??? and is $16,888.00 a good price for a 1999 Rover Mini with only 3 months rego from a lienced import dealer ??? Hope someone can help me Thanks Mikey ![]() |

My experience from a few years back - http://www.ausmini.com/forums/viewtopic ... ght=import If you can get one that already has been complied, engineered and registered in NSW you will save a lot of time and money. |

From my experience Shannons and LSV are the only insurers who will touch a Rover. (I may be wrong as I have not called every single insurer out there) but the big ones don't want to know and even LSV didn't until last year. If it's got 3 months rego already then there's no problem with registering in NSW, they've already done that part and got the Blue slip, so it's just a case of pink slip, CTP & rego each year just like any other car. Rego is cheapish as it's just based on size of car (or some combination of size/weight/type/use/engine cc) so won't be much different from an Aussie mini. Somewhere around $360 i think (mine came through last week but i can't find it right now) My CTP just came through for about $460 and i have a 1990 1275cc Rover. Insurance with Shannons is around $1000 for me, which is comparable with my wife's car (2004 Renault). As for $17k for a 1999, I reckon it's the going rate as long as it's a straight, rust free body, a couple of the guys on here recently bought cars from Edward Lees in Concord (I assume it's them you're talking about) at or around that price, so I'd say it's fair. |

Are you looking for Auto or Manual. I know of an Auto one that has air con that is registered and everything for NSW located in Sydney that is going to be for sale soon at basically half the above price. Its not perfect, but as I said.. its basically half that price. ![]() *watch the Ausmini space* |

Isn't $16,888.00 one of the oddly non-rounded prices charged by that ebay seller who claims to have Rover Minis, but may not really have them? http://www.ausmini.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=76866 Tim |

Send Josh (Mini Mad) a PM as he and Emm bought a white rover from Lee's (and yes it is still being advertised as being for sale 6 months later?) and paid a lot less than the asking price . . . a lot less. cheers |

Mikey, yes the steering wheels do definitely lean towards the drivers side. You really notice it after jumping in a Mini after a couple of years away from them... but then you forget about it again ![]() |
