Hi Honey I'm home!

Well its been a couple of years but I am desperatly trying to be a mini owner again. The wife has threatened to leave me if I get another old one. So looking at BINI's, but to be honest that just makes me a sad panda.
I miss my old blue van.. regret selling it and for selling it for next to nothing compared to the blood sweat and $$ = tears I put into it.
If anyone knows what happened to my old 1970 mini K light blue van *roundnose* supercharged beast please let me know.

Im trying to talk her around to the idea of another old mini but one done with an engine conversion. Does anyone know if they are legal in Victoria? Or if anyones done one down here that might be willing to part with it?
One of the problems I have is that it would need to be immaculate metal/paint as well as all engineering aspects *engine/brakes/suspension*
And my big concern is that if I do look for one I will end up with some frankenstein monster that blows itself up 3feet down the drive because the PO thrashed the crap out of it. /sigh

Anyway /wave to you all, and hoping all your electrics are dry :)
cheers miki.

Problem..and this is a big problem is I have always been addicted to the mini @ speed. Lets face it of the 2 long term mini's I have owned. I managed to shoe horn race engine into both of them. Rover? Its still a push rod engine.
I must say the supercharged one I had was the bees knees and to me thats now the new benchmark.

Hold the phones though. I told my wife about this post and first thing she said was *your not going to be happy with a bini* You can get an old mini as long as its had a full perfect resto and has a certified engine and everything is done! As long as you keep the merc A class for the days you crack the shitz with a mini *ie; too hot, too cold, too wet.

Women.. ffs why do they have to make so much sense :(

Oh and she told a joke the other day she heard on the radio...
Q: What does Deoderant and Common Sense have in common?
A: Those that need it rarely have it.

I Like your thinking.. but Im a big fan of the round nose. Square nose was too americanised for me. Ideally it would be a Round nose Van or even a converted traveler/estate, but a normal round nose mini would be just fine if it was done well enough.

Under my sig is the old link to my old car.

After much debate with my better half, I have been given the go ahead to purchase my (dream) car. So I'm posting the following in the wanted section.

Wanted

I'm  looking for a restored Mini Cooper S, Mk2 *1275*
Would prefer an ex police special (with solid paperwork proof) or a car with some interesting history.
However if the right kosher car presents itself then I'm happy to pay its worth.

As this will be the last mini I buy (hopefully) I've been instructed to purchase my dream car. So I have to get it right this time as I don't have the time or energy to undertake a full restoration myself, so my list of requirements are pretty steep.

It must be a meticulous restoration with matching Engine / Body numbers. I also require  proof of  provenance with associated paperwork.

The restoration doesn't have to be *just finished*  but does have to be in immaculate condition with zero signs of rust. If the paint is new/overspray/fresh then I require proof of a bare mortal restoration as the last restored mini I bought had a lot of hidden rust (not the owners fault, it was just a terrible job by a shonky "professional")

I know this might seem asking a lot, but I've  been burnt before so once bitten twice shy.

I'm willing to pay the right money for the right car. So if anyone knows a car with an owner at the stage of selling it then please pass my number on.
Mike : 0402 216 004

PS: My wife's dad use to rally minis in the UK, if I was able to read minds I would know that the car I get will be driven by him on occasion so has to be kosher or I will never hear the end of it :-)
