I run Wipac Quadoptics, had them for years, they are still good.
Bulbs are still the original H4, 55/45W, with a headlamp relay and standard wiring, they are bright as.

As the title states, and unlike as Narva supplies. I am trying to keep this next project as "Mini" as I can... the flatness of many modern Halogen 7" headlights is something I am not after. I have seen a Wipac - I think??? - headlight that is pretty close to the original curve of a sealed beam. I DO NOT want any angel eye or similar horrible style headlight. "Crystal" look reflectors can also die in hell. Cheers Will. |

Honda City's the early ones have round 7' lights which are quite nice, they actual have 4 and cheap for a good sealed beam I use a pair in my Mini, you need to unscrew the metal ring on the back and they fit straight in. |

Early Citys were few and far between here in Oz- the 1st set of Honda brakes I did for a Mini were City ones, they came from NZ.

I got new wipac from Minispares UK the only issue is they only seem to fit the new plastic buckets and wouldn't fit the older style metal headlight buckets Edit: Sorry I think they fit the old buckets  I think my problem was the old buckets wouldn't fit into my new roundy front guards

Interested in what you find with the Cibies... been thinking about them for a little while.. Good curve too I believe ? I have Hella (flat) and they drop very short on low but good on high... Reading this article explains that a bit ...... and raised my interest on them more... http://classicbroncos.com/forums/showthread.php?t=46941 So what are they like driving on low vs high beam ? |

Yep, I've got them in too and they're awesome Very well defined beam spread, it's easy to see the "hockey stick" where the beam is dipped slightly for oncoming traffic.
They're not quite as curved as the Lucas originals, but honestly you'd have to be picky to declare them too flat. These are easily as good as the lights on our Ford Territory... |

As I said, I haven't tested them much yet. The mini's booked in at the blue slipper next Monday, so after that I'll be able to (legally) take it out on the road and I'll try to give you a more detailed report on how they perform. So far they seem pretty good in my driveway/garage. Nice article by the way. Everything I've read so far has pointed to the cibies being a pretty sweet light. It seems to be what all the rally boys choose too. |
