Hi all

Im thinking of buying a cut off mini-van trailer. Its daggy but it has been registered before.

however the extending bar that has the trailer hitch seems to be pretty flimsy and seems to have bent slightly by the previous owner (they only carried dogs around in it too)

So I was wanting to know:

* What have people used for the a-frame hitch part (ie rhs size and wall thickness etc) and how have they attached it to the body(pics would be appreciated).

* also what do people think such a trailer is worth?

(Straight with basically rust free barn doors and tray area and body and gutters. There are a couple small rust sections around the windows and in the rear floor pan. Needs new side window rubbers and does have original van rear lights in good condition. Overall is daggy though). here are a few pictures:

Take a look at a 750kg box trailer and that will give you an idea of what your A frame should be.
That trailer could sell for around $200 too $500 at a guess.

bubba,

i wouldn't bother with it, looks too much work, and where are you going to store it?

There are much better ones out there that pop up here and there...

Offer him a carton of beer. Seriously.
I think it would scrub up ok, it needs a little bit of work on the front to make it neater, I would either fit a window in the front or fit panels in the sides and doors.

Go for it!
