Ok so over the last few days my breaks have been getting worse. I went from having a pedal to having to pump it a few times then getting pedal to now absolutely nothing. Tried bleeding them and cant even get that much fluid pumping through with no change in the pedal. Soooo Is my master cylinder gonskies? Could I put a kit though it or just buy a second hand cylinder somewhere as someone has to pay off our wedding so a newbie is out of the question atm. Cheers Pete. |

I overhauled a master cylinder , the kit was about 27 dollars. That was a clubbie one. Theyare fairly easy to do. |

probably start by disconnecting the lines from the MC and fitting plugs to it, then pump the pedal, if you still have the same feel to the pedal than it is your MC, otherwise could be a damaged line or wheel cylinder. |

It would be good to check the mc by itself, as Paddy and simon k say. What kind of cylinder is it? It could be the bias valve as well - they're very easy to fix once you know how. Remember to check the cylinder walls for pitting or scoring before rekitting it. If the walls are damaged, you can replace the mc, or get it sleeved in stainless steel. SS is probably the better option, because it won't happen again, and there are some quality issues with newer MCs. |

Ok problem fixed, mc just needed a kit put through it. Suzispares $35 karcraft $8.50 hmm which one do you think i got

Hmm as previously stated brakes are fixed. I put a kit through the mc today. I prefer to try to fix things myself as It's a way of learning.

He must be one of those lucky ones who was born with the gift of knowing everything. Or just has the money to pay someone else to build or fix his own car. This car I have built from the ground up. It's my first rebuild and i have done it all, cut weld screw hammer pull push paint etc. I have learnt Alot from my father inlaw who has helped with it all along the way as he has been there done that. And someday I hope to spend some time with my son building and teaching also. But all that said if I see you broken down on the side of the road I will gladly pull over and pull my toolbox out and help you get on your way cos that's just the kind of guy I am, I prefer to help rather then hinder. |
