Drive shaft is longer on the drivers side, not sure if the shaft lengths vary depending on uni type though.
What do you mean by load on the diff?

When the Left hand drive shaft is installed, there is still some load onto the Diff (This is not Good). All bits slide freely. The Question is!!!....Are there different length shafts?...or what else may I have done wrong?? Early gear box..Drum brakes...rubber uni's... |

With the drive shaft installed the spline is pushed completely in. Which applies pressure to the wheel bearing and the dif. |
