Blanket statement there.. I doubt it, but I'd not use them for tubeless tyres..

BTW there were 2 sort of rivetted wheels- early 1961 had thin (2mm) centres, if you find any of these do us all a favour and put them in the skip. They are dangerous!
I've been in a car that tore all the nuts through the wheel centre.

62-63+ had the standard thicker centres, and are no weaker than the welded ones that replaced them.

No they would not. I think you are thinking of welded rims.

If they were original production they fall into the same level of compliance as was accepted for the time of production of that vehicle.

If our cars had to meet todays compliance requirements none of them would be on the road.

Geez I was thinking scrap value.

I will have to have a dig through some BMC bulletins, I recall some interesting stuff about the riveted wheels that might blow some peoples minds with useless facts.

I was only joking about the fact they would be illegal. They will; probable be as good as spot welded ones. If they are still around they must be OK.

Does anyone have a riveted wheel handy? And maybe a pair of callipers to measure the thickness?

I have five here atm awaiting to be painted old english white. Off an early 850. Will have a look at them tomorrow.

Dave, like I said above the early thin centre ones were dangerous. I think there was a recall back then but some may still be about.
I'd only use them on a trailer queen.

They are from a guy who has an early (English import??) 850 who is restoring it and I have the wheels to paint for him. Car not going atm.

Markings on each rim are:

"350 BFL - 10"

On the nut side there is a mark "8K"

The centre bit thickness measures at 0.125 or 1/8"

Interestingly the rivets are not equal distance apart. Each of the five wheels have the distance between the two rivets anywhere from 1.2" - 1.6"

Will pass on the advice about the recall
