Hey guys, I've been searching ausmini and also googled it, but havent found an answer that satisfies, hence raised another thread on it. ![]() Do I need the breather at the back of the engine if i have one on the rocker cover? In otherwords, how many breathers do i need? Its a 998, upgraded head, 1.5SU and extractors. If that makes a diff. (I have found lots on where breathers should be vented, atmosphere or back to carbie and I have decided I will hose the breather from the rocker to the carbie) Thanks as always. |

If the one on the back of the engine is a crimped pipe, that's an air inlet and not a breather. Leave that one open to atmosphere. If it's a canister, plumb it and the rocker cover to the carb vacuum port. On a 998 you don't need tons of breather capacity, if the rings are in good nick the rocker cover will probably be enough but it doesn't hurt to have more. |

Ok, thanks for the quick reply! There are two blank covers at the back of engine, but I do have a cover with a canister thingo in my spares pile. I'll plumb the rocker breather to the carbie and leave it at that. Cheers |
