Rover arches on a Morris?

Post subject:  Rover arches on a Morris?
Hi all,

Has anyone put a set of the rover sportspack arches on to a roundie? I have seen them on a few cars and I was wondering if there were any issues with fitting them, wheels rubbing etc.

Any pics would be great too. Doesn't really matter on wheel size but I would like to see them with some 10's.

Basically same panels so they'll fit.
You need to trim the front arches of you have fat wheels though.

Uuuumm Sportspacks are "roundies" ????

If you want wheels that fill such arches you need lots of offset... which means that you need to trim the front of the arch....

?????????????

The front sportpack arches have a recess for the side indicator. You will need to fill these with fibreglass. Also the general fit is really crap as they use a rubber spacer between the body and flare. If you put some plastic like Contact or similar onto the body then fit your flare and then mould the flare to the body shape with fibreglass. Remove the flare and sand it back, remove the plastic from your body and you will have a perfect fit.

Also the rear flares are a crap fit around the bottom near the bar. I guess rover thought the bumper would hide that.

Sorry, I've only ever heard earlier mini's referred to as roundies. I was specifically looking for info for Morris minis.

OK - was somewhat confused by your question ...hence the ???

During the 70s when Leyland started experimenting with mind altering drugs they produced the square fronted Clubman (lights blue touch paper and stands clear javascript:emoticon(':P') Proper Minis were then labelled as "roundies" ie round fronted as opposed to square fronted....

When they came down from their trip - and couldn't afford another hit - they reverted to the round front. While there are subtle differences in the detail, all roundies have the same contours so anything that fits a late roundie will fit an early one - and vice versa....
